We would like to invite you to contribute to the MOBILE MUSEUM No.7 which will be staged at the Hong Kong based art and design gallery Ilivetomorrow from February 7th—February 26th, 2013.
THEME & CONTRIBUTIONS
For this event in Hong Kong we want you to make or find items that fit with the theme of AUTHENTIC. Your interpretation of the theme can be very personal, ambiguous, specific, funny, profound, whatever. Authentic speaks about the idea of what is genuine and what is not – particularly relevant to Hong Kong as a place that shares aspects of European and Chinese Culture – a place caught between different values. Authenticity touches everything from food, to production to song writing – something intangible but very real to the maker or the observer. Authentic is also something that can touch on the idea of tradition and custom, which fits well with the context of Chinese New Year, as well as a gallery.
Contributions can range from printed material, to found objects, photographs, small sculptures, industrial products, posters, postcards and sketches. It doesn’t need to be anything particularly fancy – we think a lot of small things will make a big noise, when they are brought together in the same exhibition.
DEADLINE & POSTAGE
If you wish to contribute please package well, and send to the following European or Hong Kong address with a name, biography and short description about why your piece relates to the current theme of AUTHENTIC. The event opens on February 7th , 2013, therefore the deadline for receiving submissions is January 21st in Europe or January 28th in Hong Kong.
